Abstract:

As in the case of space, and for the same reasons, this paper 10 of the series proves the physical, and then absolute, nature of time. But time has another characteristic that has been much discussed throughout history: its reversible or irreversible nature. Making use of the Theorem 5.5 of Identicality and its corollaries, it is formally demonstrated here that time is irreversible and, therefore, that the famous arrow of time does exist in reality, an existence that is usually accepted only in probabilistic terms, and for a time that is only an illusion according to the majority of contemporary physicists. The paper also discusses on absolute motion, now within the framework of a physical space and a physical time, recalling the reasons for which absolute motion is not detectable. A summary of the properties of time from the perspective of the discrete world of CALMs is also included for comparative reference.
